The plans listed below are by far the easiest to use and are among the least expensive of all the competition too.
These plans simply forward calls to your toll-free number to any phone you choose - great for families, small businesses, vacations, you name it!
Get1800.com is my first choice in this category because their per-minute rate is just so darn cheap!
Is800.com comes in 2nd because of a higher per-minute rate.
kall8 comes in 3rd because of the higher per-minute rate, but it does include voicemail and the ability to receive faxes.
TelCan rounds out the category in the number 4 spot because of the monthly service fee (great per-minute rate though!) and because their site is a little difficult to navigate.
For Those Who Don't Need a Toll-Free Number
For those that DO NOT need a toll-free number, I highly recommend Google Voice!! It is completely free and offers some great features
Google Voice
While Google Voice does not offer a toll-free number option, I couldn't resist reviewing this powerful personal virtual pbx option. The ability to use Google Voice is by invite only and I urge you to read the review AND learn how to receive an invite to this fantastic service. This is the only TOTALLY FREE virtual pbx option I have found so far.

Is800.com market themselves as an international toll-free service, able to forward calls to any number in the world. This is a bare-bones service – no frills or features (other than follow-me). Users have a monthly minimum of $5 usage. If you don't use at least $5 worth of calls you will be billed the difference.

Kall8 is an affordable and simple plan with voicemail if you stick to the basics! While you can ad features to your plan it will cost you, but for those people looking for a simple option, kall8 might be the company for you. Signing up for service is straight forward and uncomplicated.

TelCan.net
TelCan.net offers several different products, many of which we won't be discussing. From their main webpage it can be confusing to figure out exactly what they do offer. For our purposes they offer both toll-free plans and virtual PBX systems. They've broken them out separately; however they appear to be interchangeable and/or combined to make one package.
This is a bare-bones system, offering the basic services. If you're simply looking for a toll-free forwarding service then TelCan.net might be for you.
