RingCentral Office
RingCentral has been a favorite of mine now for years. When I first started using RingCentral all they had for service was their hosted pbx plans. A lot has changed with RingCentral and now, while they still have their traditional hosted PBX plans called "Mobile" they also offer a VOIP solution call RingCentral Office.
RingCentral Office offers the best of 2 worlds - VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) and Hosted PBX. What is great about RingCentral Office is that you receive some great pbx features for a low monthly cost AND you get to use your phone system the way you want to use it!

Here's How RingCentral Office Works
You have three ways to make and receive calls with RingCentral Office.
- You can use your existing land lines and/or cell phones
- You can use your internet connected PC and RingCentral's SoftPhone software to make calls through your computer
- You can use RingCentral IP Phones to place and receive calls directly over your internet connection
These three options can be used in combination and/or individually - it doesn't matter. If you spend most of your time in an office you can choose to use the VOIP option and when you're away from your desk you can receive and place calls from your cell phone.
Want to only use your cell 100% of the time? No problem - go ahead! The choice is yours.

The RingCentral Office pricing model can be a little confusing and here's why. Each plan is labeled "User" like: 1 User or 4 User when they actually mean 1 VOIP line or 4 VOIP lines. The number of VOIP lines you have has NOTHING to do with how many people (users) can actually be included in your RingCentral phone system.
Take a look at the 1st level of the RingCentral Office plans. With this plan you get the following:
- 1 VOIP line
- 10 mailboxes/extensions
With this plan you can have up to 10 people/departments using the plan and each person/department will receive their own extension AND mailbox. If you decide that you are going to take advantage of the VOIP option with a connected IP Phone that phone will use 1 extension leaving 9 extensions to be used with cell phones and/or land lines.
If you are going to choose a RingCentral Office plan the question you need to ask yourself is: "How many VOIP lines do I need and how many extensions do I want?" Once you know the answer to that question you can pick the plan that is right for you!
RingCentral Office Features
RingCentral Office includes ALL of the features provided in the RingCentral Mobile plan. I'm not going to list them here again, but you can find them on this page.
What is different between the Mobile and Office plans is that with the RingCentral Office plans you get Unlimited calling and Faxing while the RingCentral Mobile plans limit your included minutes. If you think you're going to need more minutes than are provided with the Mobile plans than you should choose a RingCentral Office plan EVEN IF you won't be using the VOIP option.
RingCentral IP Phones
If you are going to use the VOIP option on your plan you will need to have and IP phone OR an analog adapter. RingCentral offers several different options at reasonable prices for you to consider.
Prices range from $49 for a Linksys Analog adapter (so you can use your regular phone over the VOIP) to $599 for an IP Conference Phone. Other options include 2 and 4 line IP phones ranging in price from $99 to $229 per phone.
REMEMBER!!!!! You only need an IP phone or Analog Adapter IF YOU'RE GOING TO USE THE VOIP OPTION!!!
If you're not going to use the VOIP option you can use your regular phones and/or cell phones to place and receive calls. There will be no additional equipment to buy.
